When was the last time you saw Fox McCloud race across the cosmos in his starfighter? It has probably been a long time. After all, the last Star Fox game was Star Fox 2, which was released in 2017 – nearly a decade ago. Before that, we only got a handful of games where he played the primary protagonist and wasn’t being launched off a battle map in Super Smash Bros. If you, like many other fans of Nintendo, are holding out hope of seeing Fox McCloud again, you might be in luck, as leaks say a new Star Fox game will be announced this month.
New Star Fox Game Stated to be Announced Soon
If you have not seen the Super Mario Galaxy Movie, then keep in mind that there will be slight spoilers. It was revealed shortly before the movie’s release that Fox McCloud would make an appearance in the movie, and sure enough, he received a pretty sweet intro and was voice acted by Glen Powell. Fox also received a bit of a redesign in the same way Donkey Kong did previously.
Thanks to this appearance, there are many who jumped to the conclusion that Fox McCloud would be returning to games or would be receiving a movie of his own. It appears the former is true, as rumors state that a new Star Fox title.
Hype has been building on social media of a potential new Star Fox game, as popular leaker NateTheHate stated, “Star Fox will be announced this month via Nintendo Today or Twitter.” This will mark the first new Star Fox game is nearly a decade since Star Fox 2 was released in 2017. When asked about timing of this announcement, NateTheHate said he had “no interest in sharing timing expectations.”
As usual, this is just a rumor, so take it with a grain of salt. If a new Star Fox game is announced, some believe it would be released this summer, but others expect it to be released in 2027.
