Palworld is a monster-catching survival game with similar aspects to the Pokemon series. With that being said, one of the similarities is that you start your journey with a monster of your very own. This starter Pal is one that you get to choose from three, so you might be wondering what starter Pals there are.
Depending on which Pal you start your journey with, you might have a more difficult time. This is because they each have their own abilities and purposes. Luckily, it seems like you can catch the starter Pals later on as well. This at least makes things easier for those who choose one they don’t like. So what all starter Pals are in Palworld? Which starter should you choose?
Palworld – All starter Pals to choose from
Three starter Pals appear at the beginning of the game for you to choose from. These are Cattiva, Lamball, and Chikipi. Each of these starters has its own type, skills, and abilities that will help you survive in the world of the game. Let’s break down each of these starter Pals so you know which one you should catch first.
Keep in mind that you don’t get to choose a starter Pal like you would in other monster-catching games. Instead, you need to craft a Pal Sphere and work on catching your starter Pal yourself. With that being said, these are the ones that tend to appear at the start of the game and are easy to catch for those just starting out.
Cattiva
Cattiva is a neutral-type Pal that bears a resemblance to creatures like Meowth from Pokémon. Based on the Cattiva trailer released by PocketPair, this Pal seems to be a hard worker. It is seen using a distance attack while the player attempts to catch it and also uses scratch attacks up close. This Pal doesn’t look very difficult to catch as the player uses a stick and other melee weapons to defeat it.
Chikipi
Chikipi is a neutral-type Pal that seems to be focused on using air-type attacks. In the Paldeck trailer, it can be seen shooting out gusts of air at the player who is attempting to catch it. Little is known about this Pal except that it is bountiful in the fields and that it can apparently be eaten. Hopefully, you don’t choose to eat your starter Pal.
Lamball
Lamball is a neutral-type Pal and it has the interesting ability to be used as a shield in combat. You may have seen trailers showing a player using this Pal to protect themselves. Lamball appears to make good workers as the Paldeck Trailer for this Pal shows a group of them hammering away at a conveyor belt. In the trailer, the Pal also seems to have a rollout-style ability that lets it ram opponents.
