Studio Wildcard has announced via the trailer below that the fan-favorite Valguero map has gotten the full remaster treatment and is now free to play on ARK: Survival Ascended, and a mythical creature is making its long-awaited debut in the game.
What is Valguero in ARK: Survival Ascended?
For those unfamiliar with the Valguero map in ARK: Survival Ascended, it’s a world that initially appeared in ARK: Survival Evolved, where medieval legend and ancient memories collide.

With its rolling highlands and tall white cliffs, players can discover the crumbling relics that are being reclaimed by time. You will also have plenty of area to explore, with over 63 kilometers of new land and sea to wander through, featuring ten distinct biomes housed inside. Some of the biomes included the glowing tundra, which is fully reimagined in this new update include the redwoods, frozen snowfields, pine and oak forests, the dark abyss of the Aberration Trench, and the glowing tundra, which is fully reimagined.

ARK wouldn’t be the game it is without its creatures, so along with this map update, Valguero Ascended will also introduce the deadly Megaraptor to the fold, which is a ruthless predator that will stalk players down with its smarts and stealthy approach. This also wouldn’t be Valguero without its classic cliff-leaping predator, the Deinonychus. The mythical forest guardian, the Elderclaw, is also debuting as part of the premium Lost Colony: Expansion Pass.

By now, the world of ARK: Survival Ascended is jam-packed with plenty of creatures that can keep players on their toes no matter where they are on the map. When the original release of Valguero occurred, I didn’t get a chance to explore the land and uncover its many secrets. Now, hearing there is an untapped world that’s ready to explore makes me that much more excited to boot up Ark and attempt to tame the many creatures within it.
