The Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake has been one of the more highly anticipated remakes that hasn’t even been officially announced. Despite this, the rumor mill has been full of information about the upcoming title, ranging from different release dates to game mechanics and details about story changes. Originally, the title was rumored to be released in the fall of 2025, but that has since changed, with many claiming it will be released in early 2026. A slew of new leaks from a French gaming channel now says that the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake will remove the modern-day portions of the game, among other things.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake Leak Shares Story Information and More
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag is regarded as one of the best Assassin’s Creed games ever made. Many praised the game’s story, which strayed from the standard assassin-focused storyline in favor of pirates. Others heavily praised the game’s ship combat. Understandably, many are excited about a potential remake of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag coming later this year or in early 2026.
Jeux Vidéo Magazine, a French gaming YouTube channel, recently shared more leaks about the upcoming remake. One of the biggest claims in the video is that the remake will remove all the modern-day scenes and focus on the past. Instead of the modern-day portions of the game, the team will replace them with more content in Edward’s pirate era, giving players a few more hours’ worth of gameplay.
Along with this, the channel claims that the remake will shift to more of the RPG-focused gameplay that is in the newer Assassin’s Creed titles, with the introduction of an inventory system and more RPG-style combat. Along with this, the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake will supposedly be devoid of loading screens, allowing you to move seamlessly from ship to land and vice versa.
While there will be more content added to the game, the size of the map will not be increased. Instead, the remake will supposedly feature more activities on the islands, and they will be more densely packed. With all of this being said, the remake is also supposedly not on the same level as the big-budget remakes, such as Resident Evil 2 or Silent Hill 2.
