Overwatch 2 is getting in on the April Fool’s Day fun with what it is calling Balanced Overwatch. Like in past years, all heroes sport googly eyes in every mode, and their voice lines when they activate their ultimate have been swapped out for more meme-worthy callouts. The real standout is the new Arcade mode Balanced Overwatch.

Balanced Overwatch changes various aspects of all characters. A tiny Mauga (with proper small person voice adjustment) and large Brigitte make their presence known in the video, and Torbjorn can place his turret on any surface and have it stick, including on your head as a hat. Tracer distorts the map depending on where you are playing, and there are plenty of other fun changes.

We noticed some other interesting changes in one quick test run of the new mode. Ashe can call out B.O.B. to run and knock enemies into the air and instantly disappear, for example. Junkrat can detonate his grenades he shoots early, and we don’t know the full function yet, but we noticed a deadeye symbol appear above an enemy while playing Cassidy.

While there are no big rewards like skins during the run of Balanced Overwatch, you can complete various challenges in the mode for battle pass experience and various fun sprays. None of them seem that hard to complete.

Here all the sprays you can earn in the #Overwatch2 April Fools gamemode 🕹️

We enjoy the fun that the Overwatch team has with April Fool’s Day. Most games will make a funny post on social media, and that’s the end of it. We love to see interesting changes implemented into the games to change things up. Treating this as an in-game event is a lot more fun; plus, they get to have a little fun with toxic members of the community who complain about game balance non-stop.
