Battlefield 6 is one of the most highly anticipated games of 2025, with it being touted as a major comeback for the franchise. After many were disappointed with Battlefield 2024’s multiplayer, the more gritty and well-balanced multiplayer of Battlefield 6 feels like a breath of fresh air for many. The open beta alone attracted thousands of players and got solid remarks all around. Unfortunately, now that information about Battlefield 6’s campaign is out there, many are concerned about a short game length and a required internet connection, with some comparing the franchise to Call of Duty.
Battlefield 6 Campaign Draws Negative Attention From Fans
The X account Battlefield Bulletin recently shared information about the upcoming campaign for Battlefield 6. InsiderGaming later reported on this information. The post states that Battlefield 6 will feature only nine campaign missions, which will take place across three continents, and that three of these missions were playable during the digital preview event.
On top of this, the post states, “The single-player campaign is reported to be around 4-6 hours long.” Apparently, “each mission from the digital preview event took around 25-40 minutes” to complete.” This means that the full length of the game could potentially be around eight hours if players are slow to complete each mission, but that is still a drastically low campaign length. Another major downside pointed out in the post is that the campaign requires an internet connection to play.
Of course, many were not pleased to learn that the campaign for Battlefield 6 is so short. Many reacted to the news with negative comments, saying, “That’s way too short for a campaign.” Another user stated, “The way my hype for the campaign has very quickly diminished is so sad. The more information I hear about it, the more I’m just shaking my head.”
Others focused their attention on the online requirement to play the campaign, saying that they are willing to pass on the game because of it. Some even stated that the campaign should be released separately from the multiplayer so that the internet requirement can be taken away.
