Activision and Treyarch have been hard at work adding new content to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and, while some fans are having a blast, others say that the skins are getting on their last nerve. This is thanks to special weapon animations that create effects when players are killed. As one player put it, “I genuinely couldn’t see s**t. Is this not pay-to-win?” This isn’t the first time Call of Duty has been called out for pay-to-win microtransactions either.
The first season of Black Ops 6 is underway and fans are happy about the new zombies map. The first player has also reached level 1,000 and was disappointed by the rewards. While there are good aspects to season 01, many are upset and saying Black Ops 6 is turning pay-to-win.
Black Ops 6 player posts about blinding weapon effects
Black Ops 6 player Sopiate posted their reaction to dying on Reddit. It wasn’t just a simple death, however. They spawned in and were immediately met with a blinding effect that prevented them from being able to see anything. This effect was caused by a skin that comes in the Snowtime Showtime bundle. Shooting an enemy with a gun using the skins provided in the bundle causes a small explosion. Killing an enemy, however, causes a large animated effect that can completely block another player’s screen. This is demonstrated in the video below.
Many flooded the comments telling the original poster that you can remove the effect by turning off the game’s gore effects. This isn’t something that many have wanted to do but it has helped them play the game and prevent them from getting blinded by these effects. Many also shared their distaste for the new bundles with one user saying, “This breaks my heart because you can’t even enjoy the gore in the game because As*tivision wants to sell skins to zoomers, so you just gotta turn it off.” Despite many offering the advice many also posted in the Black Ops 6 SubReddit saying this “doesn’t change the fact it’s pay-to-win.”
