Borderlands 4 has been catching the eye of many worthy Vault Hunters since it was released on September 12. Undeniably, however, the game has had many issues, particularly so for those playing on PC. Through the many bugs and glitches, some fans found an amazing hack that allows them to launch themselves across the map with ease. In some cases, it even allows players to bypass the game’s boundaries and reach areas they shouldn’t be able to. This Borderlands 4 hack is called Cricket Jumping, and it only requires one item, the Noisy Cricket. It has also officially caught the eye of the devs.

Borderlands 4 Devs Respond to Cricket Jumping Glitch

If you haven’t been caught up on the latest glitches, then you might not have heard of cricket jumping in Borderlands 4. If you get your hands on the Noisy Cricket legendary pistol, which is dropped by Sidney Pointylegs, you can use it to launch yourself across the map. This is done by equipping the weapon and continuously firing it while pressing F11 to go in and out of windowed mode on your PC.

If you time everything correctly, the weapon’s pulsing shot will send you flying great distances. If you angle yourself towards a wall, you can even use this trick to launch yourself high into the sky. You can even use cricket jumping to access the final boss room.

AdmiralBahroo posted about this glitch on his X page, and it was soon responded to by the developers. In his post, AdmiralBahroo stated, “Speedrunning Borderlands 4 is gonna be insane with cricket jumping. Just clear entire sections of the map with a quick hop.” To this, creative director Graeme Timmins responded, “I’ve got my eye on this. My only worry is streaming issues or if this introduces instability. Not out to ruin people’s fun, but can’t have it cause tech issues. For now tho, not going to do anything until proven issues arise.”

There you have it. If you have been using the cricket jumping exploit in Borderlands 4, you don’t need to worry about it disappearing overnight. The devs won’t be taking any actions to remove this glitch unless it proves to cause instability issues or harm the game in some way.
