Borderlands 4 has been hit with severe performance issues across the board. Players across all platforms have complained about some type of issues involving bugs, glitches, and performance drops, but none have been affected as much as those playing on PC. The issues have been so bad that even Randy Pitchford, despite some rocky statements, has been reaching out to help. Thankfully, Gearbox is aware of the many issues plaguing the game and has released a statement about the matter. With any luck, the performance issues affecting Borderlands 4 will get fixed. Plus, a highly requested feature is in the works on console.
Borderlands 4 Devs Release Statement About Performance Issues and More
Performance issues have been on the minds of everyone playing Borderlands 4, especially those playing on PC, as a quick look at the Steam reviews will tell you the state the game is in. Luckily, Gearbox has acknowledged the issues and has released a statement on the Borderlands X page about an upcoming fix.
The statement reads, “We know some PC players are running into bugs and crashes. We hear you. Updates to improve stability and performance already started rolling out over the weekend, and another is coming this Thursday (September 18). This is our top priority.”

Hopefully, the patch being released on Thursday will fix some of the game’s biggest issues, allowing more people to enjoy Borderlands 4 without any of the serious performance issues.
Another major part of the statement reads, “A field of view (FOV) slider option for consoles is in testing right now, and more information is coming very soon on that. Some console players have reported concerns with performance, and we’re investigating those with planned updates coming.”
Many playing on consoles have asked about the potential of an FOV slider being added to the game. This will be a major change to Borderlands 4 if, and when, it is released, though there isn’t a guaranteed date as of yet.
