Borderlands 4 is the first game in the series since Borderlands 2 to get DLC Vault Hunters. The team revealed the addition of DLC Vault Hunter during the PAX East showcase and then revealed the silhouette of the first of the two characters at the PAX West showcase. At the time, the silhouette made many think that the first of these Vault Hunters would be a cowboy, and some said they were excited to get another character similar to Nisha from Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. Well, this upcoming character has officially been revealed, and fans weren’t too far off.

C4sh is the First of the Borderlands 4 DLC Vault Hunters

Randy Pitchford appeared at the Tokyo Games Show to talk about the future of Borderlands 4. More specifically, it came to talk about the first of the DLC Vault Hunters for Borderlands 4. It started with a short reveal of a robot named C-4-S-H, or Cash for short, with the number four representing the A in his name, similar to Claptrap.

While talking about the upcoming character, Pitchford said that they are “luck-based,” which immediately makes us think of Claptrap from Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. Pitchford also stated, “With luck, he can be the most powerful Vault Hunter in the game, but, of course, with bad luck, it’s the opposite.”

Demo footage was also revealed, which showed C4SH launching playing cards at targets. Pitchford said that C4SH’s gameplay is “high risk and high reward.” He also mentioned that C4SH works on probability through the means of playing cards and the roll of a dice. This could be hinting at their second action skill being a pair of dice that unleash different abilities depending on the number that is rolled.

The design for C4SH is one of our favorites, with it appearing to be a combination of Lovecraftian and southern aesthetics. It certainly stands out amongst the other Vault Hunters in the game.
