Gearbox has been releasing character trailers for each of the game’s Vault Hunter protagonists. First, we got one for Vex, where she broke free from the confines of retail. Next up was Rafa, who was able to break free from his corporate overlords. After that, Amon broke a cult free from their worship of a vault, which ended poorly for them. Now, it is Harlowe’s turn, and she is breaking free from the Traunt Family in a rather violent and Borderlands way.

Borderlands 4: Harlowe Gets Character Trailer

The character trailer for Borderlands 4’s Harlowe features her stealing back her tech from the Maliwan Corporation, stating that “Maliwan’s ecosystem is built on [her] tech.” This isn’t surprising since all of her character skills feature high elemental affinity, something that Maliwan and its weapons are known for.

The trailer showcases Harlowe’s superior intelligence via her action skill, which allows her to lift enemies into the air. It also showcases how well she can manipulate tech by deconstructing and reconstructing one of the in-game vehicles during her heist before flipping the caravan and stealing back her tech.

Of course, with the character trailer being titled “Family Reunion,” one of her Traunt brethren, Efraim, makes an appearance. With her brother being a member of the Maliwan corporation, things quickly turn ugly as the pair square off and go in for the attack. Obviously, Harlowe comes out on top as the trailer ends with her telling the story of her breaking free from her family by the ceremonial fire that ends all of the character shorts.

Fans are happy, however, because they finally got to hear Harlowe shout the “Traunt,” as all of her other family members do. While it has not been confirmed that more members of her family will make an appearance in Borderlands 4, it seems likely since they are going after her for being a Vault Hunter.
