Will Call of Duty Zombies bring back a celebrity cast in Black Ops 6?

The Call of Duty Zombies community misses the celebrity casts that headlined various maps. We found the discussion to start in the below Reddit thread by user Shatoodles, and, among the many salty and toxic comments, we also found a lot of nostalgic remembrance of players’ favorite celebrity appearances in Zombies.

What happened to celebrity casts in zombie maps?

In the past, Treyarch used to reserve one Zombies map per Black Ops game where celebrities would fill in the entire playable cast. Here is the breakdown of who showed up:

  • Black Ops – Call of the Dead – Danny Trejo, Michael Rooker, Robert Englund, Sarah Michelle Gellar
  • Black Ops II – Mob of the Dead – Chazz Palminteri, Joe Pantoliano, Michael Madsen, Ray Liotta
  • Black Ops III – Shadows of Evil – Heather Graham, Jeff Goldblum, Neal McDonough, Ron Perlman
  • Black Ops 4 – Dead of the Night – Brian Blessed, Charles Dance, Helena Bonham Carter, Kiefer Sutherland

With Black Ops Cold War, there was no dedicated cast to any of the maps. Everyone played as operators, who were equipped with various skins earned or bought through the game. That being said, Black Ops 6 is bringing back characters that actually fit into the story. Both Terminus and Liberty Falls will have voiced characters that make an impact on the story. That leaves a lot of room for a future celebrity cast Zombies map. Obviously, nothing has been announced yet, as it is very early, but we would hope that is in the plans.

Sure, none of the Call of Duty Zombies celebrity casts would necessarily win awards for their performances, but there is a level of excitement to seeing some recognizable faces in video games. Mob of the Dead remains our personal favorite Zombies map of all time. Call of the Dead and Shadows of Evil were incredibly fun maps. Treyarch knows how to implement Hollywood actors to be a piece of the story without overshadowing everything else that you usually come to the game for. Hopefully, we will get that again in the next year.
