Code Vein was a smash hit for many when it was released by Bandai Namco back in 2019. Many even dubbed the game “anime souls” thanks to the similarities it shared with the coveted Dark Souls series. Thanks to the game’s popularity, we finally got word of a sequel earlier this year. It turns out, the sequel to Code Vein, titled Code Vein 2, is closer than expected. In fact, it is scheduled for release early next year, as confirmed by the PlayStation State of Play, which took place on September 24, 2025.

Code Vein 2 Release Date Confirmed For Early 2026

In case you missed it, Sony had a new PlayStation State of Play where the company showcased some of the games coming to PlayStation 5 in the next year. Some of the notable titles included the Halloween game, Crimson Desert, Saros, Wolverine, and yes, Code Vein 2.

The new trailer for the sequel to Code Vein revealed more of the game’s story, as well as the world. Moreso, the trailer showcased what fans can expect from the game’s combat, which still has that classic Soulslike gameplay combined with the special Blood Veils from the original game. Some new weapon abilities seemed to allow players to throw their weapon, summon wings, and perform leaping slashes.

At the end of the trailer, it was revealed that Code Vein 2 will be released on PS5 much earlier than expected. Instead of getting a release date for later in the year, the game will be released on January 30, 2026. That is only a few months away until fans will be able to play the highly anticipated sequel.

We are excited to see where the team takes the story and what new additions are added to the gameplay. After all, the gameplay was the major reason why fans loved the original title.
