Gearbox has finally broken the silence on the endgame of Borderlands 4. With it, players can expect the return of Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode, a boss replay machine called Moxxi’s Encores, and some great quality-of-life improvements that past games didn’t have. It is clear that Gearbox has learned lessons from past games in the series and is looking to make the endgame of Borderlands 4 more accessible to everyone, but despite “all the W’s,” there is still “one big negative” about the endgame that fans have noticed.
Fans Are Still Worried About Borderlands 4’s Endgame
The endgame of Borderlands 4 has had fans worried for some time. At first, they were worried about what type of endgame there would be. After learning about the Vault Raids, they worried about whether that would be enough to sustain the game for a while. Now, with the announcement of Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode, fans are still worried about the endgame of Borderlands 4.
YouTuber Ki11er Six said it best in a recent post on his X account. “The only endgame at launch is farming bosses and doing the Wildcard Weekly content. No raids. No takedowns. No trials. No slaughter maps. Not liking this lack of endgame at launch.”
There does appear to be a lack of quality endgame content for the launch of Borderlands 4. During the PAX West showcase, the team unveiled the roadmap leading into Q1 2026. In Q4 2025, within the months after the game’s release, players can expect the first season mini-event – similar to those in Borderlands 3 – the first Invincible Boss, and the first Bounty Pack.

As stated during the showcase, the first of this content will be dropped in October, with the rest coming by the end of the year. This means there will be a month of base-game content for Borderlands 4, and fans are worried that this won’t be able to carry the game for very long.
