Dispatch, released by AdHoc in late 2025, was met with roaring success. The game, which features notable actors like Aaron Paul, centers around a group of villains turned heroes. While they may not be the best at their job, you help them succeed by giving them a leg to stand on and proper mentorship. When you start a new game, there are various options you can choose to personalize your experience. For instance, you can limit the nudity, tone down the swearing, and more. Now, it is being reported that Dispatch will lose these options on the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game, making censorship mandatory.
Dispatch Will Be Heavily Censored on the Switch 2
In the traditional version of Dispatch, you can tone down the game’s violence, sexual nature, and profanity using various toggles. Unfortunately, the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game will have these features removed. Instead, the game will be censored to have all sexual content, including noises, removed. This version of the game will also reportedly have curse words and violence removed as well.
AdHoc spoke to Eurogamer, saying, “Different platforms have different content criteria, and submissions are evaluated individually.” The statement shared with the company also stated, “We worked with Nintendo to ensure the content within the title met the criteria to release on their platforms, but the core narrative and gameplay experience remains identical to the original release.”
Thankfully, the core narrative will remain the same, but the fact that Dispatch will be heavily edited to remove the profanity makes it feel like Nintendo is going a bit too far. This feels especially weird since other games on the platform are released without censorship. For instance, Cyberpunk 2077, a game that was heavily promoted on the Switch 2, is playable on the console completely uncensored. There are also other games on the eShop that many have said don’t belong, making the Dispatch decision even more shocking.
