Modding is a complicated process in PC gaming for some people. There are so many variables to keep in mind. Some mods break features in games. Some can be downloaded corrupt and not work, and sometimes, getting the thing to work is a challenge in itself. That becomes even more of a question in multiplayer games that people mod. Do all players need the same mod in Lethal Company for it to work?

Do all players need the same mods to work in Lethal Company?

Unfortunately, there isn’t a definitive answer to where all players need the same mod in Lethal Company for them to work. Every mod is different in whether it just needs to be used by the host or everyone. This topic purely comes down to the mod in question. If the mod mentions something along the lines of being client-side, like this list of mods on Thunderstore, then usually only the host needs to have it downloaded, but that’s not a situation that happens every time.

If there is nothing like that being stated in the description, it could potentially still work for everyone, but you are probably better off having your friends download the same mod just to be safe.

Luckily, there are plenty of client-side mods available for Lethal Company. Some of them are funny, and some are very useful in how they change the game. Mods that add more players to a lobby, like morecompany and BiggerLobby, need everyone to download them, but smaller changes usually don’t.

To reiterate, most of the time, the mod creator will include somewhere in the description where their mod needs all players to download the same mod for it to work in Lethal Company. When they don’t look for the client-side tag, but even then, you are probably better off having everyone download it to work anyway.
