Palworld is a gruesome game that has you capture tons of creatures and put them to work to help you survive. With so many weapons in play here, you can expect to be on the offensive whenever wild Pals make their way into your space. That said, what about the people who like to be competitive? Does Palworld have PvP?

Is there PvP in Palworld?

Update: Palworld has tweeted that they are working on some form of PvP to implement into the game in the future. As of this writing, there are no details on how that will look.

[The Future of Palworld]
We would like to share with you our roadmap for Palworld.
Sales have far exceeded the development team's expectations, and we are currently experiencing many problems due to excessive access congestion, among other challenges.

No, Palworld does not have PvP, at least at the launch of early access. You can play multiplayer with your friends, but the focus here is more of a cooperative nature. Working together to gather resources, build bases, and make yourselves tougher to take on Pal threats is the point of the game. You definitely don’t want to die; otherwise, everything you have worked hard for in your inventory will drop on the ground, so PvP doesn’t make a ton of sense in this context.

With Palworld being in early access at the time of this writing, we don’t expect a dedicated PvP mode to come to the game any time soon, though we could see it in the future. Maybe some kind of battle arena that you can practice against your friends or outright challenge others in the server.

It’s important to remember that Palworld is quite different from Pokémon, so it isn’t really a game that you can just randomly challenge someone across the entire game. The idea of PvP makes sense for all of the Pokémon fans who live and breathe that atmosphere, but it doesn’t make the most sense in Palworld. Some kind of competition might be fun, but the game is more focused on pure survival, whereas Pokémon has a more competitive aspect to it.

Regardless, Palworld is off to a great start from a player numbers standpoint, so maybe Pocketpair will put some consideration into that area of the game when it comes time. In the early going, it will likely focus more on basic features to add to the game.
