Dead by Daylight has revealed the next Killer and Survivor coming to the game. The Doomed Course chapter will introduce The Houndmaster and Taurie Cain on November 28, though they are available in the Steam Public Test Build now. You can read about their backstories on the Dead by Daylight blog.

The Houndmaster is a pirate forced to watch her sailor father be tortured and killed by pirates as a kid. She brings her faithful companion dog, Snug, who you can command to search for Survivors in the area or chase them down and drag them back to you. Her perks focus on increasing her attack lunge, creating new scourge hooks, and making healing for Survivors tougher.

Taurie Cain is the new Survivor, and is a cultist who actually worships The Entity. Her perks bring a new invocation to reveal the Killer’s location with crows, heal when she has the broken status effect, and probably most interestingly, take a teammate’s hooked state. Using that last one, you can save a teammate who is on death’s door.

There are definitely a lot of interesting aspects about the Doomed Course chapter in Dead by Daylight. The Killer’s dog is mostly controlled through AI, so you can use them to track down hiding Survivors rather reliably. It’s also good to see that Snug acts very differently from The Knight’s lackeys. Taurie also brings some interesting perks to the game that players will definitely be interested in using.

There have been a lot of collaboration additions to Dead by Daylight recently, and we already know Five Nights at Freddy’s is coming sometime next year, but it’s good to see Behaviour still put a lot of effort into their original characters.
