What is the Moniker meaning in Dragon’s Dogma 2? What exactly are Monikers and what do they have to do with the character creation process? If you have been dabbling with the Dragon’s Dogma 2 character creator demo, then you have probably seen the Moniker option. This strange option appears at the end of the creation process for both your character and your main Pawn.

Many have already tried out the character creation demo for Dragon’s Dogma 2 and made some pretty amazing characters. Of course, those who are new to the game series and haven’t played the original are probably confused about some parts of this app. So what is the Moniker meaning in Dragon’s Dogma 2? Let us explain.

What are Monikers in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

In Dragon’s Dogma 2, Monikers are a type of nickname for your character and your Pawn. This name replaces your standard character’s name or Pawn’s name if you have selected an inappropriate name. Names with curse words or that have crude or spicy language will be censored and replaced with your Moniker. Think of it as Capcom’s way of adding parental control to the game’s naming system.

While it may not affect you, it may affect others. Dragon’s Dogma 2 features a small online portion that lets you hire other players’ Pawns and vice-versa. If someone has placed an inappropriate name on their Pawn, you will see the Pawn’s Moniker instead when you go to hire them. The same will be done with your Pawn should someone hire it. Your name will be seen in the Pawn menu so others know who created the Pawn. If your name is not appropriate, it will be replaced with your Moniker. The same goes for other players.

All of this has to do with player safety. That is why all of the Monikers are G-rated and harmless. For instance, we gave our character the Moniker Faircrest but others like Lancellot and Sagitarrius are on the list.
