Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree expansion release has been getting closer and closer as the days have gone by. Releasing on June 21, the expansion is looming over excited players, many of whom have returned to replay the vanilla game before the expansion’s release. For the most part, the return to The Lands Between should be an enjoyable time. Elden Ring’s world is filled with exciting dungeons and heart-stopping boss fights. Though there are a few boss fights that we aren’t that excited to return to. Not all boss fights are winners, even when they’re made by FromSoftware. Here is our list of the five worst boss fights in Elden Ring.
5 Worst Bosses In Elden Ring
5. Recurring Dragons

The recurring dragons in Elden Ring are fun during the first few encounters. They acted as a means for players to get accustomed to utilizing Torrent in combat. The first few encounters were also challenging, making trying and toppling these bosses fun. But as players get closer and closer to the end game, these dragons become much of a chore. In subsequent playthroughs, we found ourselves running past these dragons and ignoring them. Unless Players are looking for the obtainable dragon hearts found from killing dragons, these bosses become a tiring roadblock in the mid-late game.
4. Tibia Mariner

Like the dragon bosses, the Tibia Mariner is a recurring boss throughout the game. Unlike the dragon bosses, it is never fun to fight the Tibia Mariner. The Mariner has telegraphed attacks in the early game, making it easy to dodge an attack. Sometimes, the mariner may summon undead minions, but they are never bothersome or hard enough to be an issue. In fights with the mariner in the mid-late game, he often summons a large skeleton that shoots a beam at players, but it’s never difficult to avoid it. Once players are close enough to the Mariner, they can attack for a good deal of time without many repercussions, leaving these fights feeling unengaging. The Mariners drop Deathroot, but that is about their only benefit.
3. Crucible Knight and Misbegotten Warrior

Found at the end of Redmane Castle, before the Radahn fight, players will stumble upon the Crucible Knight and the Misbegotten Warrior. As players enter the mist for this particular fight, they’ll be attacked by the Misbegotten Warrior, who the Crucible Knight will later join. This fight can be very frustrating if players don’t know how to handle the duo. The Misbegotten Warrior can be taken down to half health before the crucible knight appears. When the Knight does appear, it is best to try to separate the two and eliminate the Misbegotten Warrior before moving on to the Crucible Knight. A task that is easier said than done.
2. Double Crucible Knights

One of the harder early-game fights was the Crucible Knight. Many players invested much time trying to learn how to beat it. In the mid-late game, some players may stumble upon the Double Crucible Knight fight in the Altus Plateau, which is much harder than its predecessor. These Knights have different movesets, making it hard for players to learn how they act; they’re also very fast and unrelenting, which doesn’t leave much room for the player to think about their next move.
1. Godskin Duo

The Godskin Duo isn’t just one of the worst bosses in Elden Ring, but it may be one of the worst bosses in all of FromSoftware’s catalog of souls-like titles. A mandatory boss found in crumbling Farum Azula, the Godskin Duo comprises the Godskin Noble and the Godskin Apostle. The duo will attack in what feels like erratic behavior, which has no rhyme or reason. Unlike most boss fights, where there are two or more bosses, if you kill a duo member, they’ll reappear a few seconds later. This gives players little relief when juggling the duo and can lead to huge frustrations. For this fight, we suggest summons, as it is simply not worth the time or effort to go it alone.
