There is plenty of endemic life to track down in Monster Hunter Wilds. Those who want to collect everything will need to search high and low for all types of wildlife. One of the more elusive birds found throughout the game is the Dapperwing. This magnificent bird doesn’t have a ton of spawn locations but luckily, they are fairly easy to locate if you know where to look. Here is how to find Dapperwing in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Where to find Dapperwing in Monster Hunter Wilds
If you want to track down a Dapperwing, start by going to the forest biome. This biome is the second location unlocked during the campaign after you have completed the Windward Plains. If you have already completed the campaign, fast travel to this biome. We recommend fast traveling to the pop-up camp you can establish in Area 7: Bower of the Great Tree, as it is the closest location to the Dapperwing spawn point.

Travel to Area 6 of the forest and take a look around the trees in the area marked on the map. We found multiple Dapperwing and Dazzlewing in the trees and on the fallen trunks in the area. Watch out for monsters as they do tend to traverse this area as well. If you aren’t in the mood for a fight, be cautious.
We have travelled to this area on multiple occasions and found that Dapperwing prefer to spawn during the daytime. You will also most likely find them during the season of plenty. Under these conditions, we were able to capture upward of 10 or 15 Dapperwing and Dazzlewing in the area before heading back to the base camp.
How to capture Dapperwing in Monster Hunter Wilds
Dapperwing aren’t particularly afraid of humans approaching them. Because of this, we found that we were able to get close to them without much worry of them flying away. It does help to wear your ghillie suit to get closer to them, as getting too close will scare the Dapperwing away into a nearby tree. Do this enough and they will fly away permanently. As with other endemic life, you will need to pull out your capture net in order to get your hands on a Dapperwing. Be sure to approach them slowly with the net already prepared to make capturing them easier.
