If you want to survive in Enshrouded, you will need some more equipment. After starting off with nothing, you must scrounge for tools and items that will help you survive the Shroud. Because of this, it is important to know how to get the grappling hook. This item is one of the most important traversal tools that you have at your disposal outside of the glider.
With the grappling hook, you can scale walls and swing across chasms that you normally wouldn’t be able to cross. There is no denying that it is one of the most useful tools in the game. This guide will show you how to get and use the grappling hook in Enshrouded.
How to make the grappling hook in Enshrouded
To create the grappling hook, you first need to build a workbench. This will require string made from plant fiber and wood logs gathered from trees. You can find the recipe for the workbench in the crafting menu. Once you have that built, you can move on to gathering the items needed for the hook.
To craft the grappling hook, you need the following items:
- 4x Metal Scraps
- x7 String
- x10 Shroud Spores
Starting with the Metal Scraps, you can obtain these by defeating enemies. Many enemies drop Metal Scraps when they die. You can easily find enemies in shrouded areas and abandoned towns. Next up is the String. You can make this item out of plant fiber gathered from plants around your camp. Finally, the Shroud Spores are obtained by defeating enemies in Shrouded areas. Use all of these items at a workbench to craft the hook.
How to equip and use the grappling hook in Enshrouded
Now that you have the hook, go into your inventory and right-click it. Select the equip option to equip the hook onto your character. Once that is done, you can start using it to climb walls and swing across gaps. You can’t perform this action everywhere. You must look for grappling points.
When looking at a grappling point, you will see a prompt appear to use the hook on it. Press the E key to hook onto the grappling point. If it is a climbing point, you will automatically get pulled to it. If it is a swing point, you will automatically start swinging. Be careful, you will drop at the end of your swing unless you press the space bar to jump.
