As should be expected with any new Call of Duty release, the next entry is easily one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Modern Warfare 3 will be stepping up just a year after the release of MW2, making the fastest turnaround for a subseries in Call of Duty in a long time. Plenty of new content is on the way, but for your first experience playing the game, you will want to try the multiplayer beta. Here is how to access the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 beta.
How to get into the MW3 beta
If you have participated in recent Call of Duty betas, you will likely recognize the schedule structure for Modern Warfare 3’s beta. First, PlayStation players can play the early access beta October 6-7 by pre-ordering the game. After that, all PlayStation players can play the open beta from October 8-10.
Those are not the only times you can try the game, though. A week later, from October 12-13, Xbox and PC players can join in the fun for early access to their platform’s betas if you pre-order the game. During this time, all PlayStation players have access again. Then, from October 14-16, all platforms will have open access to the beta.
If you decide to pre-order Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 digitally, you should have automatic access to download the betas when they become available. If you are a physical buyer, you should receive a code from the receipt to input into your platform’s store. Download the client when available, and you will have access to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 beta.
While Xbox is set to purchase Activision, the Call of Duty franchise still has an ongoing marketing deal with PlayStation. That is why that console will have earlier and longer access to the game’s beta. Luckily, there shouldn’t be any other exclusive content once the game is fully released.
