Sniffers are very rare mobs introduced in the Minecraft Trails and Tales update. These long-thought-extinct creatures are returning for anyone willing to try to find them. Getting them is enough effort, so you don’t want to go through that every time. Here is how to breed Sniffers in Minecraft.

How to get Sniffers to breed in Minecraft Trails and Tales

Like many other mobs in Minecraft, Sniffers can be bred by giving them a certain food. In this case, they need Torchflower Seeds. To get them, you will need Sniffers to dig them up. When they are above a dirt block, they occasionally dig up either this or a Pitcher Crop. You will need at least two Torchflower Seeds, but possibly more.

Unfortunately, you will have to get lucky enough to find two Sniffers before you can begin the breeding process. Given that they have a low chance of appearing in Warm Ocean Ruins, you might spend a lot of time searching for them. However, after you have two, all you need to do is feed them Torchflower Seeds until hearts begin appearing from them. That shows that they are in love mode and will search for another Sniffer to breed with. Only Sniffers at full health will go into love mode. If they have taken damage, the Torchflower Seed will heal them slightly.

Once the two Sniffers are in love mode and close enough, they will create a Snifflet. This baby version of the Sniffer will not dig up items like the adult form. You can speed up its growth progress by feeding it Torchflower Seeds. From that point, you can slowly build up a large community of Sniffers.
