How to complete the Tukarok Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom

The Tukarok Shrine in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a test of the player’s mastery of the Zonai Wheel component. The objective of this shrine is to guide a ball through a series of obstacles. The solution to these puzzles is to use the wheel in a variety of ways to create forward motion. In this guide, we will walk players through these challenges.

Location of the Tukarok Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom

The Tukarok Shine is located within the Lanayru Wetlands close to the western border of central Hyrule. It is southeast of Rebonae Bridge and is located next to the Wetlands Stable, slightly to the south within the woods. Its coordinates are 0915, -0250, 0034.

How to Solve the Puzzles of the Tukarok Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom

When you first enter this shrine you will be confronted with two locked doors, next to one of them and a bowl-like depression in the floor. The depression is a switch that requires you to place a large ball inside to open the door. Going further you will find a lower area with said ball, however, it is impossible (at least to our knowledge) to take the ball back the way you came. The objective of this shrine will be to move the ball through a series of obstacles to get it to the other side. The first obstacle blocking your way is a pool of lava, next to where the ball was found you will find a kart consisting of a board and 4 wheels already assembled. The solution should therefore be fairly obvious, use the Ultrahand to attach the ball to the top of the kart, climb on board, then strike one of the wheels. This will activate the apparatus, which can then be used to drive over the lava pool. Once you have reached the other side simply detach the ball from the kart and continue on your way.

The next puzzle is quite a bit trickier. You will be confronted with a series of diagonal protrusions that gradually lead upward and a slab of stone set on a rail. The objective of this puzzle is to get the ball to the top area, to accomplish this you are given a stone board and a wheel as materials. First, attach the ball to the top of the slab on the rail, then attach the wheel to the side of the slab. From here attach the board to the side of the wheel such that when the wheel is spun the board will rotate along with it. If done correctly when the wheel is activated the board will spin and catch the edge of each of the protrusions going upward, this will in turn propels the slab on the rail upward until it and the ball reaches the top. You may have to readjust the board a few times to get it right.

The next room will see you having to cross a body of water. You will notice several rafts with wheels attached to them. Once again the solution is to attach boards to these wheels so that they spin with them. This forms something of a makeshift paddle wheel that will propel the raft across the water. If your raft should break, don’t panic, the ball will float on the water and the raft will respawn after a few minutes. Once on the other side stand on top of the pressure plate to open the door. This will lead into the first hallway where you can place the ball into the bowl-shaped switch to open the door to the final chamber.
