There Will Come Soft Rains World Quest

There Will Come Soft Rains is a World Quest in the Merusea Village in Fontaine. This quest will automatically begin once you have started A Brush of Seafoam and Crimson quest and follow Mamare the Melusine Village. To complete this quest, you must collect Four Strange Parts to repair the damage Seymour has taken in a previous battle. You must interact with Serene in the Merusea Village to start this quest. She is found as you enter the Merusea Village, after which she will advise you to speak with the other Melusines and assist them in finding the missing parts.
You can speak to these Melusines in the Merusea Village to collect Strange Parts:
- Serene: She will give you one Strange Part after you start this quest.
- Lara: You can find her fishing behind the Merusea Village.
- Cosanzeana: After watering the flowers, she will offer you a Strange Part.
You can also complete various World Quests in the Merusea Village to collect Strange Parts. The quests are listed below:
- “Hey, This Isn’t Pumpkin Soup…”
- Book of Esoteric Revelations
- Echoes of the Ancient World
- The Lone Snail
Repair Seymour at Mamare’s house

Once you have collected all four Strange Parts needed to repair the damage on Seymour, you must return to Mamare. After giving the Parts to Mamare at her home, she will fix Seymour with the assistance of “Father.” Once Seymour has been repaired, he will regain his former speech and have the ability to move.
After Seymour’s repairs have been completed, an earthquake will strike the Merusea Village. You must then make your way to “A Very Bright Place” to help the Melusines who are in danger. With the assistance of Seymour, you must defeat the Rockfond Rifthound and Rockfond Rifhound Whelps.
Find the Trapped Melusine
After defeating the Rockfond enemies, jump into the water below to find the trapped Melusine. You will meet Glaisti in the water, who will ask you to help her friend, Puca, trapped within the seagrass. A Xenochromatic Hunter Ray will be nearby, and you can use its ability to unleash Water Blades that can cut through the three orbs of the Fontemer Seagrass.
Head to the designated location

After freeing Puca and learning more about Mamare, who can hear and speak to “Father,” find a large conch. To the far right of the conch, you will find a current that will take you to the following location, back to the Merusea Village. After a few cutscenes with Glaisti, Mamare, and Seymour, you will experience another earthquake in the Melusine Village.
Go to the Teleport Waypoint and access the purple wormhole that will take you to “A Lonely Place.” Once here, you must defeat the Rockfond Rifthound Whelps and use the Prismatic Resonance to investigate the ore. Hit the smaller rock to use Prismatic Resonance, unleashing a slash that will shatter the ore. After this, it will free the Melusine Virda.
You will then encounter the same NPCs from The Eremites running away from the Rifthounds. After defeating the Rockfond Rifthounds, the Traveler and Mamare will collapse in pain, and this will complete the There Will Come Soft Rains world quest. After completing this quest and A Brush of Seafoam and Crimson, you can interact with Serene again. She will gift you more Strange Parts that can be used in trade with Xana.
