Sunset Fireflies in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom are useful for cooking in elixirs for better stealth. If you want to move along quieter, you will want to grab some. You will also need 10 to give to Pyper for the side quest The Flute Player’s Plan. Whatever reason you want them, here is where to find more Sunset Fireflies in Tears of the Kingdom.
How to complete The Flute Player’s Plan in Tears of the Kingdom
If you are trying to get Sunset Fireflies in Tears of the Kingdom, the best spot we have found them in is Finra Woods. This location is north of the stable where you find Pyper for The Flute Player’s Plan. Like Fireflies in real life, these creatures are only found at night, so be sure to wait at a campfire until night for the most time to gather them. Additionally, they will not appear if it is raining, so you may need to wait a little longer.
When you are in the woods, look for green balls of light. Before you get too close, be sure to press the left stick in so Link crouches. You need to walk toward these creatures slowly; otherwise, they will run away and disappear. When you are close enough, press A when the prompt appears, and you will add a Sunset Firefly to your inventory.
If you do not get enough Sunset Fireflies while in Finra Woods, we recommend dropping down a bundle of Wood and a Flint. Strike the Flint with a metal weapon to light the Wood into a Campfire and wait until the next night to try again.
You can also run into Beedle at Highlands Stable and buy up to three Sunset Fireflies from him for 10 Rupees a piece. This stock refreshes every morning, so you could drop 100 Rupees here if you don’t want to take the time to grab them yourself. Make it as simple as gathering Hylian Rice. Those are two simple ways to get Sunset Fireflies in Tears of the Kingdom.
