Starfield is the most exciting Bethesda release in a while. Todd Howard describes the game as being “25 years in the making,” so the company is not shying away from the hype. The game was announced a long time ago, and the circumstances surrounding the company have changed. Microsoft acquired Zenimax and now, in turn, owns Bethesda. We know it is a PC and Xbox exclusive, but is Starfield coming to Game Pass?
Is Starfield a day one Game Pass game?
Yes, Starfield will launch on Xbox Game Pass on day one of its release on September 6. Game Pass for Console, PC, and Ultimate subscribers all will be able to play the full game on their chosen platform. If you want your system to pre-install the game before launch, find Starfield in the store or Game Pass library and set it up.
If you are a fan of physical games, Starfield will have a boxed disc you can buy for full price at launch on Xbox. The PC version will not have any physical version, as is typical for that platform.
Some great news for anyone with a PC and an Xbox: Starfield supports Xbox Play Anywhere. If you buy the digital version instead of using Game Pass, you will own the game on both platforms with one purchase. Additionally, this also means that the game supports cross-saves. You can play your save on one platform and instantly pick up where you left off on the other.
The combination of Starfield in Game Pass and Play Anywhere means you can’t go wrong choosing which version to play. For a straightforward experience, play it on your Xbox. If you want to implement mods and see how good-looking the game can be, put your PC to its limits.
