Is The Talos Principle 2 Steam Deck compatible? The sequel to the original game promises to bring in even more mind-bending puzzles and philosophical themes. Of course, each time a new game releases on PC, many question whether it can be played on Steam Deck.

The Steam Deck is Valve’s handheld system that was released back in 2022. Since then, many have obtained it and been able to play some of their favorite games on the system. So can you play the Talos Principle 2 on Valve’s handheld system? Is The Talos Principle 2 Steam Deck compatible? If so, how well does it run?

Can you play The Talos Principle 2 on Steam Deck?

Yes! The Talos Principle 2 can be played on Steam Deck, however, it is not entirely compatible. Since the release of the demo, multiple fans have tried to play the game on Steam Deck and have done so successfully. On the Steam Discussion board, multiple users have stated that the game runs at 40fps minimum. Others have stated that Proton Experimental is required so that it doesn’t crash.

The official Steam page lists The Talos Principle 2 as playable on Steam Deck. This does not mean it is fully compatible. The following are the reasons listed on the page for it not being entirely compatible:

  • Some in-game text is small and may be difficult to read
  • All functionality is accessible when using the default controller configuration
  • This game shows Steam Deck controller icons
  • This game’s default graphics configuration performs well on Steam Deck

The only issue listed is the in-game text not being compatible. This means that the game should run well on Steam Deck. Go ahead and down it and give it a try for yourself to see if it meets your standards. There are more games available on the official Steam Deck compatibility list.
