Are you trying to find the Plasma Cutter in Remnant 2? As the Traveler, you’re tasked with traversing different worlds to destroy powerful enemies to obtain Index Segments. Your starting arsenal, while serviceable, consists only of provided class gear. As you journey you may find yourself wanting an upgrade. Remnant 2 boasts a catalog of over 80 weapons to aid you on your quest.

This guide will focus on the Plasma Cutter, a powerful beam rifle that does more damage the longer the beam is focused on an enemy. With the right set up it becomes a devastating laser that feels like it can cut through anything.

Remnant 2 – How to find the Plasma Cutter

There are quite a few steps to finding the Plasma Cutter. First is, oddly enough, finding a helmet. To do this you must first progress past the first open area of N’erud to the second. This could either be The Eon Vault or Timeless Horizon. You’re looking for a group of tall structures, a map tile named Extraction Hub. Beneath one of the structures will be a hole leading to a secret underground area packed with N’erud Zombies. Clear the area of all Zombies Until you find one with a special head. Once killed you will be rewarded with the Navigator’s Helm. Once obtained, return to Ward 13 and reroll an Adventure Mode N’erud. Due to the random nature of the game, this may take a few attempts.

Once you’ve re-rolled we once again want to make our way through the first main area into the second. This time you’re looking for the Titan’s Reach set piece. It looks like a downed spacecraft from a distance. Up close along the hull, search for an opening that leads to the interior of the craft. Once inside you’ll be scanned, so you can put the Navigators Helm on beforehand or in front of the door. The door will scan you again and allow you access to the Plasma Cutter.

Now that you have the Plasma Cuter we recommend the following to maximize its potential:

  • Equip the Hunter and Gunslinger Archetypes. This grants you a higher Crit Chance, Effective Range, Ranged Damage, and Fire Rate
  • Equip The Microcompressor Ring – This lets you shoot longer for more damage sustainability by reducing the overheat rate and reducing cooldown
  • Equip Constant Variable Ring – Increases total damage up to 20% based on overheat
