There are multiple kill types in Modern Warfare 3 with each type having some sort of challenge associated with it. For instance, some weapons in the game require you to get operator kills in order. This, in turn, will unlock skins or weapon attachments, allowing you to perform better with the weapon.

This entry in the Call of Duty games added a few new things to the game. One new addition is Tactical Stance – an aiming option that is in between ADS and hip-firing. You can use this stance to get kills if you’d like. But what are operator kills in MW3? Here is everything you need to know.

Modern Warfare 3 – What are operator kills?

Operator kills in Modern Warfare 3 are simply when you kill or eliminate another player combatant. In game modes like Team Deathmatch, this is when you eliminate a player on the opposing team. In game modes like free-for-all, this counts as any other player in the game.

Keep in mind that this requires you to defeat enemy players and not bots or AI-controlled enemies. When two players are attacking the same enemy, the one who gets the killing blow is the one who gets the kill counted toward their total.

You can quickly rack up these kills in game modes like free-for-all team deathmatch thanks to the number of other players in the same lobby as you.

Can you get operator kills in private matches in MW3?

No. Unfortunately, operator kills don’t count in private matches. While you are eliminating other players, these won’t count toward weapon challenges or any other challenge type. You must be in a public lobby for operator kills to count toward challenges.

Of course, you can always use private matches and bot matches as a means of getting better at the game. That way, when it comes time to challenge other players in public matches, everything is a bit easier.
