Recently, Helldivers 2 players discovered a fall glitch that has been making waves online. This glitch protects the Helldivers from nasty falls simply by performing an emote in midair. Many videos have gone out showcasing this glitch and one even revealed how much emoting actually helps. In a video on Reddit, one player was able to survive massive falls where death was guaranteed by performing different emotes. Thanks to this and how much fun players are having with it, even the Helldivers 2 CEO wants the glitch to stay in the game.
The glitch in question, as stated above, stops you from receiving fatal damage when falling by emoting. Not only that, but it also protects you from smaller falls. In the Reddit video, the player tried it out on different fall heights and found that the glitch can protect nearly half of your health from even a massive fall. This glitch has gone so far that even the CEO of Arrowhead, Shams Jorjani, has noticed it.
Shams posted a video of the emote glitch on his X account asking the Arrowhead devs, “Can we please, please keep this?” A fan of the game responded by saying, “Literal definition of: “It’s not a bug. ITS A FEATURE!!” To this, Jorjani responded by doubling down on his statement, saying, “We’ll add inflatable bouncy bags that deploy from under your armpits or some shit if we have to. c’mon! we have the technology – where there’s a will there’s a way!”
This practically confirms that the fall glitch will be staying in Helldivers 2 as a feature from here on out. We may even see some changes to this feature in later updates for the game. Perhaps we will even get inflatable bouncy bags like Jorjani said as a special means of fully negating the fall damage when we plummet back to the surface of whatever planet we are trying to liberate.
