Many Helldivers 2 players have been asking about the galactic map lately. Even after changes made during a previous update and the developer saying that it is “not in its final state,” many are frustrated with the current map’s design. The main reason for the frustration is that it doesn’t allow players to communicate very effectively, leading to periods where players ignore the objective or don’t go where everyone wants them to. This has also led to the failure of some major orders. Thanks to the frustration, many Helldivers 2 players have bombarded the Discord server with questions about when the galactic map will change. Thankfully, community manager Twinbeard has been quick to answer.
Recently, Helldivers 2 leakers have been on a streak of showing off never-before-seen items from the game. For instance, leaker IronS1ghts showed off a “Kalashnikov style rifle” that could be used in an upcoming Warbond. They also showed off a leak that shows the Illuminate could be arriving within the next 3 months.
Helldivers 2 community manager Twinbeard has been fielding complaints about the galactic map. One user posted on the Discord server saying, “The lack of in-game information and the inability to battle “the blob” has reached boiling point.” They went on to say, “Too many times have we been given the opportunity to liberate a planet and win a defense to the betterment of the galactic war, to have the prime example now of Acamar – being that there’s no way to coordinate or communicate to the player base that taking Acamar would win the defenses.”

In response to this post, Twinbeard stated, “You´re right, we know and we´re working on it.” He went on to say, “The galactic map you see in-game now is not in its final state. It will evolve over time.” This echoes words that Twinbeard stated earlier this year where he said that the current galactic map is “not in its final state.” Along with the galactic map getting some major changes, Twinbeard game some hope that the game will get a better way for players to communicate and for Arrowhead to communicate with the players.

In a later comment, Twinbeard alerted everyone to changes that are coming to the galactic map. In the recent post, Twinbeard stated, “I’m happy to say that one or more changes to the map are coming relatively soon and a couple more are being worked on.” He went on to say that he “can’t disclose exactly what” is being worked on but they are “related to visualization and information.”
