There are many stratagems in Helldivers 2, but one of the best, at least in our opinion, is the Exosuits. Along with this mode of transportation you can call down from the sky, you can find the occasional vehicle sprinkled around the battlefield. Of course, there aren’t many vehicles in the game, and far fewer than there were in the original Helldivers game. However, this is going to be changing in the future, as one of the Helldivers 2 devs has confirmed that they have big plans for the future of vehicles in the game.

Helldivers 2 Vehicles Will Get Longer Time Limits and More

A few days ago, Niklas Malmborg, Design Director for Arrowhead, shared information about the future of vehicles in Helldivers 2. As part of the new Democratic Conversation posted on YouTube, Malmborg responded to a question about mechs lasting “longer in the field.”

Malmborg said, “We have plans. We are looking at extending vehicle gameplay. People remember from playing the first game that we had loads more vehicles. Not saying we necessarily will bring back all of them, but it would be fun to bring back some of them and extend how much you can do with vehicles, and all the nooks and crannies of it. Like, can you reload stuff, can you repair stuff. Not guaranteeing that you will be able to, because they kind of work like a temporary buff. But we are definitely experimenting a bit with that.”

This long answer boils down to Arrowhead is looking into extending the lifespan of vehicles like the mechs, and is also looking into adding more vehicles to the game. There are a lot of features teased by Malmborg, and it is unlikely that they will all make it into the game, but it seems as though vehicles will be getting a major buff in the future.
