The addition of vehicles in Helldivers 2 is something that players have been asking about for a long time. There are multiple Reddit posts focused on talking about what vehicles should be added when they eventually come. Despite the constant questioning, the Helldivers 2 devs haven’t really shared any information about vehicles. That ends today as the devs have hinted at more vehicles to come in Helldivers 2. They also shared information about potentially uncapping the mech limit in the future.
A post has been circulating on Reddit that shows how you can use two mechs during a mission in Helldivers 2. In the video, the player shows that you can select the new mech called the Emancipator and then also add Patriot Exosuit. Obviously, this isn’t meant to be possible and is one of many glitches that are in the game. Despite that, many have been using the glitch on PC and enjoying the ability to use two mechs during a dive. In response to the post, Helldivers 2 community manager Baskinator reached out with a word from the code team lead.
In the comment, Baskinator acknowledged the glitch saying, “You’re mean to only equip one at this time.” They made sure to leave it vague as it shows that we will have the ability to equip multiple mechs in the future. In a word from the code team lead, Baskinator said, “We want to un-cap the number of mechs/vehicles but more work is required on our end.”
This seems to mean that in the future we will definitely be allowed to use multiple mechs during a dive. What interests us more is that they made sure to use both mechs and vehicles in the sentence as if they are different entities. This could be hinting at the inclusion of vehicles coming in the future. If we are getting vehicles in the future, many players would be excited to get ones such as ATVs, motorcycles, and even tanks if possible. For now, however, it does seem that they will be patching the mech glitch in the future until they get all of the kinks worked out to allow multiple mechs or vehicles for each Helldiver.
