It wasn’t long ago that many Helldivers 2 players began using the Senator and singing about the “big iron on their hip.” Thanks to a buff that increased the damage and reload speed of the beloved six-shooter, the gun was immortalized in meme culture. Now, some players are looking for something bigger, and badder than the Senator. We introduce to you, something that we only wish was in the game. Welcome, The Governor.
BrainstormAndTheory on Reddit posted about their idea of the new sidearm by saying that is “bigger and stronger, but has the old reload speed (of the Senator), much heavier recoil, and requires two hands.” That is a powerful gun for something you’re packing on your hip. To compare the stats, the damage of this weapon variant is marked at 350 when the original is 175. The fire rate is a modest 100 compared to the 200 of the Senator. Finally, the recoil is 85 compared to the Senator’s recoil value of 43.
One user commented, “Nah that’s the President,” while another responded with “Forget the president that behemoth is straight-up Emperor.” Another user commented, “And then give me a version with an even longer barrel (think Jack Nicholson’s Joker revolver) and call him the President.” Others posted memes of the Joker firing his iconic long-barreled revolver.
Other players introduced the idea of adding a second Senator to the game so they could be duel-wielded. Image running around with two big irons instead of just one. That would be a dream come true. We highly doubt that Arrowhead would add a more powerful sidearm to the game but we can certainly dream. Maybe we will also get the amazing Doom-like Premium Warbond that one fan designed as well. Anything would be better than the lackluster items we have gotten in recent Warbonds.
