Have you used the flamethrower in Helldivers 2? Sure, this weapon can be a bit janky and will sometimes catch you on fire, but it is mighty useful against the Terminids. We have used it quite a few times to rain fire down on our bug foes. While it does have some mighty strong firepower, one thing it cannot do is destroy bug holes. If you ask some fans, this weapon deserves a bit of an upgrade and definitely needs a patch or two to get it working properly.

In a post on Reddit, user Jellyswim_ posted an image that reads, “The Flamethrower should be able to kill bug holes. Change my mind.” Many players took this as an opportunity to provide some much-needed criticism of the weapon. For starters, players want it to stop burning them alive when they walk with it.

This needs to be said

One user commented, “Moving with the default flamethrower already has a 50% of setting yourself on fire, so it wouldn’t change much.” Another commented, “New support weapon: heavy flamethrower. Long range, must be stationary to fire, taking damage risks fuel tank explosion.” We personally like the sound of a heavy flamethrower that has the range of a Flamethrower Hulk Automaton with no chance of lighting yourself on fire. Someone added to this comment by saying, “It would be cool if it starts to light and gives you time to try to react fast to take it off. Therefore being able to be used as an impromptu bomb.”

Another popular comment on the post reads, “Flamethrower should have 2 different fire modes, first is tight spread with long-range fire and second should be wider spread but shorter range.” This is another great method of making a heavy flamethrower and we are surprised this isn’t already in the game. Arrowhead needs to get to work adding this ASAP.
