Helldivers 2 was released on the PlayStation 5 and PC in 2024 and has been on a rollercoaster ride ever since. The past year of its release has seen some major highs and incredible lows, with players often praising the title. One thing has stayed consistent, however, since the game was released: players want reinforcements from their Xbox brethren. These reinforcements will finally be arriving as Helldivers 2 has officially been announced to be coming to Xbox Series X/S later this year.
Helldivers 2 Xbox Series X/S Release Date Announced
The walls that are console exclusivity have slowly been crumbling away as more and more players want the freedom to connect with their friends no matter what system they play games on, be it Xbox, PlayStation, or PC. Earlier this year, Gears of War was confirmed to be getting ported over to PlayStation. Halo, another major Xbox franchise, has also been rumored to be making the jump to PlayStation as well.
With Xbox willing to give up its properties for the good of the gamers, it is time for PlayStation to make the same move. We have already seen major PlayStation titles such as Spider-Man and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth make the jump to PC, but now, Helldivers 2 is officially making the jump to Xbox.
Earlier today, Katherine Baskin, the Senior Community Manager at Arrowhead, posted on Xbox Wire about Helldivers 2 finally making its way to Xbox Series X/S. The announcement came with a release date of August 26, 2025 – only a month and a half to go from the announcement.
This is a glorious day for the citizens of Super Earth and those who have been enjoying Helldivers 2, as more players will officially have access to the game. The base version of the game will cost $39.99, and the Super Citizen version of the game will cost $59.99.
