The implementation of the DSS in Helldivers 2 has been a slow process but many remain hopeful that the wait will be worth it. With that being said, many are aware that we are in the process of building what is essentially the Helldivers equivalent of the Death Star. A recently leaked video stated that the DSS “successfully destroyed a small moon” during a test fire. Now, a new leak shows what the DSS might be capable of in Helldivers 2 and it comes in the form of a war table model.
Leaks have been aplenty recently for Helldivers 2. One such leak revealed a “Kalashnikov-style rifle” that we could see in a future warbond. Another leak showed off old weapons that have yet to be used in the game. These show that some major changes could be coming to Helldivers 2 fairly soon. One of the latest leaks is from IronS1ghts and it shows a “destroyed planet war table model.”
The image was posted on IronS1ghts’ X account and it shows a planet with a massive chunk blown out of it. There is no context for the image other than that it is of a planet on the galactic map. The lines between the planet and others show that it is fairly recent as well. Many have taken to the comments to speculate that this is what will happen when we choose to fire the DSS in the future, leading to planets getting destroyed and a new symbol on the map taking its place.
The DSS is live and capable of being used but we speculate that it could evolve over time, becoming a more powerful tool for democracy later on. We know from a leaked test fire video that the DSS destroyed a small moon. Perhaps it will be destroying entire planets later on.
