Helldivers 2 fans call for a shooting range to test weapons

Do you wish you could test or measure how democratic your weapons are in Helldivers 2? Instead of taking the obvious choice and going straight into a live fire test, some fans want a shooting range to test out the numbers beforehand. We have to admit, a shooting range would be nice to see damage numbers and to test out a weapon without running for your life from Terminids or Automatons.

In a post by Dominion96 on Reddit, they posed a simple question; “How would you feel about Arrowhead adding a shooting range where you can test/measure the weapon’s performance on various enemies?” The response to this was very positive with many players agreeing that they would like to test out weapons before going into battle.

How would you guys feel about Arrowhead adding a shooting range (maybe something similar to Darktide’s Psykhanium) where you can test/measure the weapon’s performance on various enemies? After all, Super Earth has shown they don’t mind using live targets for practice.

One user commented, “I think we should have a basic shooting range like a simulation BUT with a twist: Only basic enemies are unlocked after the first mission but the advanced ones you haven’t killed yet will be unlocked until you do so.” Another user commented, “We could bring back the info terminal from [Helldivers] 1, and maybe you can only start simulating enemies if you have killed a certain amount of them.” We like the idea of earning rewards in the simulation in the form of different enemy varieties. It would give a reason to keep going back.

When Helldiver questioned the need for a training area by saying, “Why do that when you can live test those weapons on the countless enemies of Super Earth?” Someone responded to this by saying, “Because learning happens better in a vacuum. You can’t as readily deduce the effects of a thing when you’ve 8 other things demanding your attention.”

Of course, we need to state the obvious. If they implement a training simulation then it would undermine the entire training introduction of the game being a joke. When it comes down to it, who really needs a simulation to help them manage democracy?
