Most of your time in Sea of Stars will be spent adventuring. Outside of story scenes, you’ll battle countless monsters and solve puzzles as you level up your characters. Outside of that, though, you can do some other activities. Here is a breakdown of how to fish in Sea of Stars.
How to go fishing in Sea of Stars
To fish in Sea of Stars, you must enter lake areas designated for fishing. The first time you can do this is after exiting the Forbidden Cavern during the opening tutorial section of the game.
Once you are in a fishing area, approach the water and interact with it. Your character will automatically pull out a fishing rod. Press the action button and they will fling the hook across to the other end of the lake. If you press the button again any time before it lands, it will drop at that point.
Once your bobber is in the water, you begin reeling it in and steering its path back to you. Aim for the shadows in the water to get a fish to bite.
Once the fish is hooked, a tunnel of light will appear on the water. To keep the fish on the line and get it in quickly, you will need to reel in the fish in the middle of this light. Sometimes a fish that is hooked will jump out of the water. When this happens, press the action button to stun the fish, making it easier to reel them in. Once the fish reaches you at the dock, you will pull it out of the water and can turn it into cooking ingredients or throw it back into the water.
Fishing in Sea of Stars is a great way to get ingredients to cook at a campfire. Use this to fill up your inventory with healing items for your journey.
