Cat-loving gamers rejoice! Falcon Development is officially releasing Cattails: Wildwood Story to Steam on October 20, 2023. Cattails: Wildwood Story is the follow-up to Falcon Development’s popular 2017 title, Cattails. In this game, Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing meet—but every character is now a curious little kitty.

After the success of Cattails, Falcon Development began development in September 2019 for Cattails: Wildwood Story. Three years later—In May 2022—Falcon Development then created a Kickstarter campaign to help finish funding the game. The Kickstarter campaign proved successful, raising 800% of their funding goal: over $240,000. For the past year, Falcon Development has worked with a small beta test group to polish the game and add new surprises and stretch goals to the gameplay.

Lead developer Tyler Thompson says, “We are thrilled to finally welcome players into the Wildwood. After four years of continual development, we believe Cattails: Wildwood Story is a strong new entry in the Cattails series. Fans of cozy games, wholesome games, cats, and RPGs will find a lot to like in our latest offering.”

Meanwhile, Falcon Development has also announced intentions to release a Nintendo Switch version of Cattails: Wildwood Story in 2024.
