If you are hoping to play Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on the PS4 when it releases, odds are you won’t be able to. The reason for this is that the game has only been announced for the PlayStation 5. The official game trailer that was shown during Summer Games Fest concluded with the announcement that it would be a PS5 game.
While this doesn’t guarantee that the game will only be coming to the PS5, it would definitely make sense. After all, Final Fantasy 16 is a PS5-exclusive game that will get a PC release in 2024. Because of this, and Square Enix’s relationship with Sony, it is pretty safe to assume that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will only be on the PS5.
There is a chance that we will see a PC port of the game after the initial release. After all, the Final Fantasy 7 Remake managed to make it to PC so it would be strange to not see the sequel appear on PC as well. Plus, most Square Enix titles end up getting PC ports at some point, furthering the likeliness that it will be on PC though keep in mind that this has not been confirmed.
