A fan of The Legend of Zelda on Reddit is setting out with the self-made task of creating every version of Link in Hero Forge, the online service that lets you create custom tabletop game miniatures. Like any good adventurer, JeyutMaster is starting at the beginning, and has made a version of Link from the original game. Of course, the blocky graphics of that game wouldn’t give something truly great to look at, so this first project is based on official art within the game’s manual.

In case you didn’t know, the above figurine is based on the below image, which is one of the many pieces of artwork depicting Link in the wilds. Here, his back is loaded with all of the items he can find while on his adventure to locate the missing pieces of the Triforce.

For moving over a 2D image into a figurine creation machine, we think Jeyut did a pretty damn good job. We have never used Hero Forge ourselves, but it looks like you can do a lot of interesting things with it. They have said that they plan on doing this for all versions of Link, so we can only imagine that the Zelda II: The Adventure of Link version will be next, with less gear on his back and more focused on his sword and shield in hand.

Being the millennials that we are, we are particularly excited to see Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask Link figurines made in Hero Forge. We’re not sure how cartoony you can get on the site, so Wind Waker will be interesting as well. We are sure others have done this in the past, but the first creation by Jeyut was really cool to us, so hopefully more are on the way.
