The mid-season update for Marvel Rivals is almost upon us and that means some major changes for players on each platform. Not only will we be getting The Thing and the Human Torch, but Invisible Woman players will also get a new skin. That is if they meet the requirements. NetEase made the announcement about the upcoming update earlier today. The icons for The Thing and Human Torch have also been revealed.

Recently, Marvel Rivals players talked about how The Thing could be an amazing counter to Wolverine. This is thanks to his leaked passive ability that prevents him from being affected by abilities that displace other characters.

Marvel Rivals Human Torch and The Thing release date revealed

NetEase posted on the official Marvel Rivals X page about the mid-season update. In the post, the team revealed that the mid-season update will take place on February 21, 2025. This is one week after the leaked Valentine’s Day event is supposed to begin. Along with this, the posted stated, “Get ready to welcome two new super heroes to Marvel Rivals – The Thing and Human Torch.”

Many players have eagerly awaited the arrival of both of the new heroes, especially The Thing. The Human Torch’s abilities recently leaked and he seems like a strong character with a possible team-up with Storm.

Popular leaker Matfacio also revealed the icons for The Thing and the Human Torch. These images came from a recent event in the Marvel Rivals Discord server that showcased a maze players needed to help Mister Fantastic solve.

Rank resets coming to Marvel Rivals in the Mid-Season

Along with the announcement of The Thing and Human Torch arriving on February 21, NetEase also stated that some major changes will take place during the update. In the official Marvel Rivals blog, the devs stated, “Going forward, players can expect to kick off the start of each new Season with a drop of six divisions and the start of the second half of each new Season with a drop of four divisions. We will tune this as necessary!”

That’s right; in each new season, players will have their rank dropped by six divisions. During the mid-season, players will have their rank dropped by four divisions. Of course, the devs also stated that this will change depending on player feedback so make sure to voice your opinion about the rank changes in the Discord server or on X.

Marvel Rivals Invisible Woman skin mid-season reward

The Marvel Rivals blog post also stated, “In the second half of the season, we will be rolling out new costume rewards for Gold rank players, along with brand new Crests of Honor. These Crests will recognize players at Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity, and One Above All (the top 500), each with its own unique design to celebrate your skill!”

If you have managed to reach the rank of gold, you will get a free skin for Invisible Woman called Blood Shield. If you have not reached this rank, you will not receive the reward so be sure to rank yourself up before February 21 if you want to obtain this skin.
