Pokémon has had a ton of info leak for the future of the game series on Twitter. Everything from game titles, expected release years, and planned game features and mechanics has been revealed via Centro Leaks.
There is honestly too much information to be held in one article, so if you want to see everything, you can go there and view it, but keep in mind that development changes constantly. Who knows how much of this will remain true going forward. Let’s get started.
Pokémon Wind and Waves Gen 10 Leaked
One of the highlights of today’s leak is the information on generation 10. According to Centro Leaks, Pokémon Wind and Waves are the two versions that will be revealed and released in 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2 exclusively, supposedly based on Southeast Asia and Indonesia, at least as of 2021. The game’s theme is focused on infinity, with lots of jungle environments, the ability to explore underwater, and, apparently, there will be new weather moves as a mechanic.
Legendary Pokémon Details
We don’t know the name of the legendary Pokémon for these games yet, but descriptions for them revolve around an old man and woman who live on deserted islands that keep any trainers away who haven’t correctly raised the “seed” Pokémon.
This seed Pokémon that is mentioned apparently evolves only depending on visiting the right locations, and that evolved form will be procedurally generated, so it will be different in every playthrough. If we were to speculate, this may be a companion creature you gain early in the game who doesn’t battle, but at some point, will evolve as you follow the main story and then can join your party, similar to Miraidon and Koraidon in Scarlet and Violet.
MMO Features?
There is also mention that Pokémon Wind and Waves could feature some lite MMO features. Instead of a small town, the game starts in a large tourist city, as your trainer and their mom are on vacation following the mother winning a lottery. While in the starting hotel area, it is claimed that you may be able to see other players who are online and interact with them in some ways. It feels like this functionality is held for very special locations and won’t be a constant.
It is also claimed that some islands in the game will be procedurally generated, going off of the infinity theme at play.
Pokémon Legends Leaks
With Pokémon Legends: Z-A releasing later this week, and plenty of leaks surrounding that game making the rounds, it only makes sense to learn a little about the development history for the game, plus some details on the next Pokémon Legends title.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A was Initially Going to be Set in Johto
While we know Pokémon Legends: Z-A to be a game revolving around Lumiose City in the Kalos region from Pokémon X and Y, it started as another time-traveling story that had your trainer traveling to the past in Johto, from Pokémon Gold and Silver.
The original plan was to release in 2024 as the 25th anniversary of the second generation games, and would focus on the foundation of Pokémon trainers becoming a thing in this world. It is unknown why the switch the Lumiose was made.
Pokémon Legends 3 is Planned for Galar
According to the leaks, the next Pokémon Legends game is set to be in Galar and release in 2027, going back 1,000 years in the past, and you will create the first Gigamax Pokéball. Of course, like the Johto setting, this could easily change, though there are screenshots of the game in action.
Pokémon Seed and Gen 11
There are even more future Pokémon games included in this massive leak, including that the generation 11 games are currently set to release in 2030. No information is known besides that.
Pokémon Seed
Going back to the Seed project naming, this project is supposedly a multiplayer-focused game that connects both the Sinnoh and Hoenn regions and might come out in 2028. It seems like this would be a game that Game Freak has the intention of turning into a live service game that continually gets updates, which might worry some people with how the studio manages its projects now.
That is a LOT of information that we promise that The Pokémon Company did not want to leak and have people know right now. Of course, so much of this could change, as a lot of it is information gleaned from documents that originated in 2021, but there is also a lot here that seems like it is definitely moving forward. One thing is for sure: there will be no shortage of Pokémon adventures in the near future.
