MLB The Show 25 Cover Revealed, Not on Game Pass This Year

MLB The Show 25 revealed its cover for the upcoming annual release and this time, features multiple young superstars. Paul Skenes, Elly De La Cruz, and Gunnar Henderson share the spotlight this time around. Additionally, while the game will still release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch, it will not be included in Game Pass this go around. It was a day one Game Pass title the last four years. The game launches in early access March 14 for anyone who buys the Digital Deluxe Edition. It releases on March 18 for everyone else.

We like the new decisions for the cover athletes this time around. Traditionally, the MLB The Show cover stars a singular player. Recently, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Shohei Ohtani, or Fernando Tatis Jr. However, Major League Baseball has seen a large boom in young star players in recent years, so focusing on these three could show a focus on the young players this time around.

Who are the MLB The Show 25 cover players?

Paul Skenes is a starting pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates that made his MLB debut in 2024 and ended up starting the All-Star Game for the National League and won Rookie of the Year. Elly De La Cruz is the shortstop for the Cincinnati Reds and is one of, if not, the fastest players in the game today. Gunnar Henderson is another shortstop who plays for the Baltimore Orioles who was just three home runs shy of 40 last year.

There was no reason given for why MLB The Show 25 will not be on Game Pass this year. This series is the only big baseball game every year, so we imagine it had the players to support it. Some kind of deal between MLB and Microsoft might have fallen through. Unfortunately, it appears that the game is still not set to come out on PC again this year.
