The Pokémon Company has announced that shiny Pokémon will make their long awaited debut in Pokémon TCG Pocket. This introduction will coincide with the launch of a new themed booster pack titled Shining Revelry releasing on March 27. Trainers will also be able to put their Pokémon to the test in the newly added ranked mode that will be coming to the app soon.
Players will be able to obtain shiny Pokémon within the Shining Revelry set such as the higher-tiered EX cards Charizard EX and Lucario EX. Lower end cards get some love as well with Pachirisu, Wiglett, and Varoom getting shiny variants. The Shining Revelry set will also introduce a ton of Pokémon and trainers with over 110 brand new cards originating from the Paldea region in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet such as Tatsugiri, Sprigatito, and Iono.
Cards aren’t the only shiny new objects trainers can get their hands on with this new release. Starting on April 1, players will also be able to obtain a shiny Charizard themed display board and binder to properly showcase their brand new cards. A new EX-starter deck mission will also be running for a month starting on March 27 which will allow you to earn a deck ticket that can be exchanged for this starter deck.
Ranked player matches will be launching alongside the new theme deck. In ranked mode, trainers will be able to battle players of similar skill levels and earn emblems based on their end-of-season rank to display on their profile.
Pokémon Pocket TCG continues to prove that this game is here to stay with this constant flow of new cards to collect and game modes to test your luck in. With the added dynamic of shiny Pokémon now in the mix, trainers will have a ton to sink their teeth into for the next few months.
