The Pokémon Company Announces Future Plans for Pokémon TCG Pocket

Pokémon TCG Pocket is off to a very hot start for the Pokémon company ever since it was released on iOS and Android devices back in October. The key aspect for this app’s long term success is a constant flow of updates, cards, and events for users to enjoy, and by the looks of it, the Pokémon Company looks to do just that.

It was revealed through a lengthy blog post that the Pokémon company has plenty of tricks up their sleeve as it pertains to keeping users coming back to the game. As for the first major addition to the game a ton of new boosters packs will be added to the by the end of the year. This will offer users what is presumed to be a wider range of Pokémon to collect along with a new set of rare cards.

Next up, considering how this is a trading card game after all, it looks like the Pokémon Company is aiming to add a trading feature to the app starting in January 2025. There does appear to be a catch here because through this blog post they mentioned how they’re gradually looking to expand the selection of cards that are able to be traded. This would lead me to believe some cards which I would assume to be hyper rare cards or promo cards will be non-tradeable come January, but as of right now that is pure speculation on my part.

At the end of the blog post, the Pokémon company does state they have other new features currently in development outside of the trade feature they mentioned. They plan to announce more details pertaining to that matter at later dates once everything they mentioned today is finalized. The Pokémon Company looks like they found themselves another great foothold in the world of mobile gaming with Pokémon TCG Pocket, and as of right now, users like myself couldn’t be any more excited for what’s to come.
