Final Fantasy XVI is right around the corner and there is no better way to celebrate than by looking at beautiful fan art created by those who love the Final Fantasy series. The game will hit store shelves and become available for download on June 22, which is only a week away. There is currently a demo available for those who want to play the game a bit early and try out the fast-paced action.
For one fan of the series, they just couldn’t wait to see the art so they had a mural created for themselves. The finished work is something worth sharing with the world. This mural takes Final Fantasy XVI and crosses it over with Kingdom Hearts — something the series used to do before Kingdom Hearts 3 dropped.
Reddit user AlpineVader posted the creation a day ago and it has already received a bunch of upvotes along with a fair number of comments. AlpineVader can’t take credit for the image because they had it commissioned by @pencil_comics on Twitter.
Those who are fans of the Kingdom Hearts series will recognize the mural as the stained glass images you see near the beginning of the games. These stained glass images typically depict the Kingdom Hearts characters like Kairi, Sora, and Riku with some of them even showing off Mickey and friends.
The artist took the style of the Kingdom Hearts stained glass and let Clive steal the show with Lily, Cid, Torgal, and Joshua — some of Clive’s allies, appearing in the smaller circles. The other star of the show is Ifrit who sits opposite of Clive and plays a big role in the Final Fantasy XVI story. This fine piece of art deserves some praise, so make sure to check out the official Reddit post.
